I love it when a plan comes together.

I recently watched The Movie remake of the 80s TV show A Team. It stars Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel and Liam Neeson. Four men are put in jail for a crime they did not commit. In the movie there are many weird action scenes such as a flying tank that shoots fighter jets out of the sky and many other weird and cool scenes. This movie is proof that Hollywood is running out of ideas.

Wanting people to listen, you can't just tap them on the shoulder anymore. You have to hit them with a sledgehammer.

To finish 7 I watched the 7th and last film in my series titled Se7en. It stars Morgan Freeman as a cop about to retire and Brad Pitt as his partner. It also stars a headless Gwyneth Paltrow as Pitts wife. A man named John Doe(Kevin Spacey) is going around killing people in horrible ways. His killings are all based on the seven deadly sins a fat man for Gluttony,A rich attorney for Greed and so on. This is by far the bloodiest movie I have ever seen. I would rank Spacey's performance as John Doe one of the creepiest villains of all time.

You play chess, do you not?

As part of seven I watched The Seventh Seal. The film is set in Sweden around the time of the black death. It was directed by Ingmar Bergman. The film is about death. A knight goes on a long journey and while he is on that journey he stops every once and a while to play a game of chess with death. He loses the game and is killed along with everyone else around him. This is one of my top ten foregin films.

From the land beyond beyond... from the world past hope and fear... I bid you, Genie, now appear.

I recently watched the movie 7th Voyage of Sinbad as part of my seven series. I have seen this film many times before and I can say that it is one of my top favorite fantasy/monster movies all because of the wonderful stop motion animation by the great Ray Harryhausen he makes any movie a classic. Plus it has a skeleton which he used later for Jason. Here is Richard Eyer as Barani the gene and Kathryn Grant as princess Parisa when she was shrunk by Sukurah the evil magician.

Yes, I know who Judas was. He was a man I worked for and admired until he disgraced the four stars on his uniform.

Blockquote
I just finished Seven Days in May as part of my seven sires . It is a film about a undercover plot to take over the United States government. Burt Lancaster plays airforce general scott one of the members of the JCS invovled in the plot. Kirk Douglas plays Colonel Martin Jiggs who is working under Scott at the time and is then able to warn the president about Scotts plan. A secret base in el paso a senator held against his will all this and more make the movie a good suspenseful film. The senator is played by Edmond O'brien.

Love is like the measles. You only get it once, and the older you are, the harder you take it.

I just got done watching Seven Brides for Seven Brothers a musical directed by the great Stanley Donen director of such musicals as On the Town,Pajama Game and Singin' in the Rain. The musical is about 7 loggers who are all brothers living in the Oregon Territory around 1850 and they are lonely and want wives. The film has lots of spectacular dance scenes all choreographed by Michael Kidd such as the barn raising. Here is the barn raising scene. enjoy!

The farmers have won. We have lost.

Today I watched the 3 hour and 27 minute film Seven Samurai directed by the great Akira Kurosawa. It stars Takashi Shimura who is known to me as Dr. Kyohei Yamane from the first Godzilla film. It was made in 1954. 5 years before it's remake The Magnificent Seven. A third remake was made in the 80's called Battle Beyond the Stars and it stars Robert Vaughn who starred in the Magnificent seven. It does not sound very good. I would rate it as one of the top five best foregin films. A timeless classic.

We deal in lead friend.

I just ended Queen fest and I am starting up 7 with one of the top five westerns of all time The Magnificent Seven. All though it is a good movie it's really sad because they kill off James Coburn instead of Yul Brynner and Charles Bronson instead of Horst Buchholz which was a big mistake. McQueen,Colburn and Bronson would go on to star in another John Sturges film the Great Escape.
A remake of the Magnificent Seven sould have been made with John Wanye,Clint Eastwood,Jimmy Stewart,Lee Marvin,Kirk Douglas,Henry Fonda and Robert Mitchum as the seven. That would be so epic.

Two hundred and fifty guys just walkin' down the road, just like that?

As part of Queen fest I watched the great Escape starring James Garner,Donald and Coburn. It also stars Donald(Blofeld)Pleasence, Charles Bronson,David McCallum and Richard Attenborough. The is film is based on a real life WW2 escape by POW's. All of these stars except Donald break out of a Nazi camp by digging a tunnel. Coburn and Bronson both get away. Attenborough,McCallum and Pleasence are killed. McQueen and Garner are sent back to the prison. This is a great film and the best war film of all time. I think it is also McQueen's best performance in a film. Next we will watch 7 men fight like 700.

How do you get people to protect themselves from something they don't believe in?

I just got done watching The Blob from 1958 which is the first film appearance for McQueen and also Aneta Corsuat who in my opinion is very pretty in this film. It has pretty much the same plot line as any other science fiction film of the 1950's. Something lands and a monster comes out one or two people see it. Then they go tell the police and they think that they our crazy. They then try to tell other people but know one believes them. Finally after 7 or 8 victim's later the thing is seen by many people including the police. After they use guns on it and that does not work so they use something else but by that time one more person is dead and the monster is tearing apart a building. Then they shoot some kind of weapon or fire or water at the monster and it dies. THE END. The Blob has Steve McQueen which makes it better then most 50's Science fiction. Next we will watch Steve along with James Garner,James Coburn,Charles Bronson and many other great actors as they try to break free from Prison. Remove Formatting from selection

Look, Chalmers, let's understand each other... I don't like you.

I just got done watching Bullitt as part of Queen week to honor the films of actor Steve McQueen. It stars McQueen as well as Robert Vaughn who also starred with McQueen in Magnificent 7. It also has one of the best car chases in film history. Which is probably why it won two Oscars. Here is McQueen saying the line on top to Vaughn who is standing next to McQueen. Next is the Blob.

CD's CD's give me CD's It's all I want for Christmas is CD's

yesterday I wacthed an old video tape called Thanksgiving 88,Bruce+Julie Ian Xmas service. This film is great because it stars many great actors such as Doug Smith,Paul Muller,John Muller,Sara Muller and many other actors. Ian Muller's performace as the young boy who loves Ghostbusters toys should have won best actor in 1988 but it went to Dustin Hoffman for his performace in Rain Man which was a mistake. Barb Muller also gives a good oscar worthy performace as the mother, mother in law and grandma of the house. The dialog, voiceover and camera work provided by Doug is really good as well. Tom Muller sr. is also good with the camera This is a timeless classic that will be watched for years to come.

Hack Fest

This has been Hack fest honoring one of the greatest actors and milkshake makers in American history Gene Hackman. Join us next time for Queen fest where we will honor the films of actor Steve Mcqueen.

Kill me? Lex Luthor? Extinguish the greatest criminal flame of our age?

I just finished the last film for Hackman week. It is one of the vary few sequels that is as good the first movie.  It's good because it has Clifton James as a cop. For those who do not know who Clifton James is he's Sheriff JW Pepper in the bond films Live and let die and also Man with the golden gun. Anything with him has got to be good. 5 stars for both 1 and 2.

We all have our little faults. Mine's in California.

Today to finish Hackman week. I watched Superman Starring Marlon Brando,Christopher Reeve as Superman and last but not least Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor. The film is directed by Richard Donner director of such films as the Leathal Weapon 1,2,3 and 4. This in my opinion is the best super hero film ever made. And let us not forget the wonderful theme music by John Williams.

Screenwriter Tom Mankiewicz dies at 68

We are taking a pause to remember Screenwriter Tom Mankiewicz who died at the age of 68. He is well known for being the screenwriter for James Bond films such as Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die and The Man With the Golden Gun. He was also the sreenwriter for the first two superman films which I am Watching as part of Hackman week. RIP

God bless Field Marshall Montgomery.

A Bridge to far tells the story of Market Garden a plan to take German factories and win the war.
Everything goes wrong. This movie has pretty much every famous actor. It has Robert Redford,Anthony Hopkins,Sean Connery and of course Gene Hackman. The film was directed by the great actor
Richard Attenborough. This movie is a great war film because it shows the failures of Bernard Motgomery. We would have won with George.

Anybody want a milkshake

I just got done watching The second best cop/crime movie behind Dirty Harry. It is the French Connection. It stars Hackman and also Roy Scheider as two narcotics cops from New York City. Who come upon a criminal that is smuggling heroin from France into the United States. The movie has many great lines like the one on top where he and Roy do a drug bust in a bar and he puts all the drugs into a glass with beer shakes it up and asks them if they would like a milkshake then he dumps it on the counter and they leave. A 5 star movie deserves 5 Oscars. It's one hell of a film. Hackman's second best performance after Hoosiers.

Son, whatever you do, don't sell that cow

Yesterday as part of Hackman week I watched Bonnie and Clyde. With Warren Beatty,Fay Dunaway and the first performance of Gene Wilder who is most known for his roll as Willy Wonka. This is a great film because it is one of the first films to have lots of blood in it. And also the famous death scene of Bonnie and Clyde which paved the way for films like the Wild Bunch. Hackman won an Oscar in this film for his performance as Clyde's brother. He deserved it. They made a smart choice for once in there lives.

You want another life? Then take me!

Today as part of my week long Hackman fest I watched The Poseidon Adventure Directed by
Ronald Neame
(23 April 1911 – 16 June 2010)RIP. It also has an all star cast including Hackman,Red Buttons,Ernest Borgnine and Leslie Nielsen as the captain. It takes place on new years eve and a large earthquake is recorded. Then the lookout spots a huge wave coming right at them.It is too late for the ship the wave smashes into the boat overturning it and killing many on board. Gene Hackman who plays Reverend Frank Scott tries to get every one out of the dining room but only a few will go. Minutes later there is shaking and the Reverend looks to see water pouring into the dining room and within ten minutes most of them are dead. Then 10 people Hackman,Borgnine,Buttons and a few others have too go around the ship looking for a way out. In the end they are finally saved but with only 6 instead of 10. It is the best of the disaster films of the 1970's Towering Inferno and Airport.

Now all you gotta do is pull the trigger mister.

Last night I watched Unforgiven which was directed and produced by the great Clint Eastwood. Starring Eastwood,Morgan Freeman,Richard Harris and of course Gene Hackman. Clint plays William Munny a outlaw who has given up his old ways to take up farming with his two kids. Then he meets this young who tells him about a reward on two cowboys who cut up a women. So he gets his friend Ned Logan played by Freeman and the three head to kill the two men responsible. Then they find and kill the two cowboys only to learn that Logan is killed. So then Eastwood and the boy part ways and he heads off to kill Hackman which he does in a climactic ending to a great western.

Let's go get our boy back!

After I watched Hoosiers I watched one of his more recent films Behind Enemy Lines. It stars Owen Wilson in which him and another pilot are on a reconnaissance mission over Bosnia when they are shot down and his friend is killed. Then he has to fight his way though Bosnia and wait to be rescued by Admiral Reigart who is Hackman. It is one of Owen Wilson's best performances.

I don't care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game, in my book we're gonna be winners.

I am having a Gene Hackman fest. My first movie in the fest is Hoosiers. I have seen it before and it is one of my favorite Hackman films and also by far my favorite sports movie. I also picked it first in honor of the late great Dennis Hopper who gives a great performance as an assistant coach along side Hackman and also an acholic trying to overcome his drinking problem well his son plays for the team. The team goes though some challenges and so do some of the players such as Jimmy played by Maris Valainis. But in the end they come though to win and become the state champs. It also has the music which is composed by the great Jerry Goldsmith.
